Cheer Squad Award Counter
How many cheer awards does a squad need? Type the number of athletes, the pieces each one gets, any extra honors such as a spirit award or coach plaque, and spares. Sideline Trophy Co's counter multiplies and adds those four entries. It will not decide how crossover athletes are counted or how many spares a squad should keep.

Set spares yourself. This calculates the quantities you enter; it does not assume a recommended buffer.
The decision behind a cheer team awards event
Keep squad trophies, individual athlete awards and coach recognition distinct. A squad changing divisions does not automatically change its recipient roster. Confirm approved program names and whether the year means the competition date or the full season.
Keep with your brief: Squad, athlete roster, season and coach recognition.

How would a school cheer coach count banquet awards?
A high school cheer coach has fourteen athletes on her sideline squad. Each gets a Pom Motif Acrylic Award, so she enters fourteen athletes and one piece each. She adds two extra pieces: a Spirit & Leadership Award chosen by team vote and a Cheer Coach Appreciation Plaque that the parents are giving her assistant coach. She adds one spare in case a junior varsity athlete moves up before the banquet. Fourteen plus two plus one comes to seventeen. She notes that the spirit award winner also receives a pom award, so that athlete takes home two pieces.
Check these details before using the result
- Forgetting crossover athletes
- If an athlete cheers on two squads, decide whether they get one award per squad before you enter the roster counts.
- Counting a squad trophy per athlete
- A trophy that stays in the gym is one extra piece. Do not multiply it by the number of athletes.
- Letting the coach see the count
- If a coach gift is included, keep it on a separate note so the coach does not spot it when reviewing the order.

Does the counter add spares for new athletes?
No. The counter leaves spares at whatever number you enter, including zero. In cheer, a spare usually covers an athlete who joins late or moves up from another squad. Say what each spare is for in your quote request, so it can be left blank or engraved with squad and season only.
How do I count several squads with different roster sizes?
Run the counter once for each squad, since each roster is a different size. Add the results yourself for the quote, but keep the squad totals too. They become the bundles coaches pick up at the banquet.

Choose a per-athlete or per-squad recognition rule before counting crossover athletes, then keep approved achievements and presentation handoffs separate from roster appearances.
Use the event-approved division label and season, keep squad identity separate, and review every qualifier before shortening or formatting the inscription.
